Zena is maturing into a lovely young mare. She is beautiful, sweet, well built and has good feather. She comes from excellent bloodlines. Her sire is the beautiful palomino stallion, Shantaigh, and her lovely dam is a daughter of the immortal Vines stallion, Nobby! That means she is also a great grand daughter of the Lottery Horse! It doesn’t get much better than this. Zena has produced some amazing foals for us and will certainly produce more lovely babies in the future. She carries the much sought after cream gene and can produce both buckskins and palominos. She was bred to Dragonfire, a 15.1 hand palomino pinto Gypsy, in 2009 and gave us a spectacular double dilute colt in 2010. You can see him here. He was a large foal and Zena had no trouble foaling. At 1 year of age he was already taller Zena! Zena was next bred to Aidan for a June 2011 foal and delivered a stunning smoky black colt. See him here. Zena has proven herself to be an excellent broodmare. She is reluctantly offered for sale only because we do not plan to do as much breeding in the future. Until she sells she will also remain available for custom in utero purchases (see sales page for additional info). Since Zena we bred at 3 years old we never started her under saddle. She did have extensive roundpen work, ground driving training, and saddle work as a 2 year old. All of which she was very calm and cooperative about. We will be very sorry to see this girl go.
