Rainbow’s Misty Morning — Grey Sabino (Appaloosa?) Gypsy Filly

Born 5/5/09  -  DNA  Ee aa Gg

(Rainbow’s Blue Genes X Rainbow’s Rosebud)

Misty is a gorgeous and extremely sweet Gypsy filly.  She is a complete love and will patiently follow me around waiting for hugs and scratches.  She has wonderful conformation and plenty of hair.  She already has a super thick double mane and heavy forelock.  She should mature into a spectacular mare and will most likely be in the 14.2 to 15 hand range.  She is sired by a wonderful grey appaloosa stallion, Rainbow’s Blue Genes, and out of a spectacular chestnut mare, Rainbow’s Rosebud.  Misty has inherited some sabino characteristics from her dam (rear stockings and belly splashes), but we also believe she may have inherited an appy gene from her sire.  She has what are known as “lightning marks” on her front legs which are frequently found in appaloosa colored horses.  This year she has also started developing mottled skin around her nose and eyes and is looking suspiciously blotchy on her rump.  Appaloosas can take several years to develop their color sometimes.  It will be very interesting to watch her mature.  Misty is pictured above at 1 year old.

I really hate to see this girl go but in an effort to keep our horse population at a manageable number I have reluctantly decided to offer her for sale.  Priced at $8500.
