Words cannot describe how incredibly grateful I am to be able to add this amazing mare to our breeding program. Kaylee is everything that the Gypsy should be. She is massive in build, extremely hairy, and has a heart of gold. She is one of the sweetest mares I have ever known. She is extremely calm and cooperative and despite having only limited training under saddle she has already proven herself to be a calm and reliable trail horse. She has beautiful conformation and wonderful straight, silky feather. She is approximately 14.2 hands. Kaylee’s foals all seem to get her amazing personality. Her first colt, Champ, is said to be a sweet and willing boy and our own filly, Liadan, is every bit as wonderful and sweet as her dam. We look forward to seeing more gorgeous foals with unique coloring and fabulous personalities out of her. Kaylee has been bred to Pendragon for 2010. Her due date is 4/22/2010. Should be a stunning foal!
Update—Sadly Kaylee lost her 2010 foal. The foal was improperly positioned when delivery started. By the time we got him out he was not breathing. After 20 minutes of CPR we got him breathing and took he and Kaylee to the vet hospital where they did all they could for him. Unfortunately, in the end he had just been too oxygen deprived and passed away at 20 hours old. Rest in peace baby boy.
We have given Kaylee some time off, but plan to breed her to Gypsy Elite Aidan for a Fall 2011 foal.
