***Update*** As a result of our decision to focus more on the Gypsy Horses we have sold Juncal. It was a difficult decision and he will be missed. We still have two of his offspring. Hechicero TH will be staying here and the lovely Abeja TH is for sale. We wish Juncal’s new owners the best of luck in their future breedings.
“Cal” is a beautiful black bay stallion. He is correct, well conformed and is very straight moving with no winging. “Cal” was bred at Adalid International where they also raise Spanish Fighting Bulls for the Mexican Bull Rings. Their horses are used to work the bulls. Having been bred for this purpose, Cal is very quick and agile in his movements. He is not an overly large Andalusian. He measures 15 hands. His size, temperament, and athletic ability all make him a great candidate for Reining or Cutting. At the same time, however, his movement would also be well suited for Dressage. For this reason we feel that his foals will have the ability to excel in a variety of disciplines. Juncal comes from excellent bloodlines. He is line bred to Adalid, the 1972 National Champion of Spain. Adalid’s sire, Maluso, was one of the most award winning Spanish horses and one of the primary founders of the bay lines. Adalid’s dam, Orbita, was from one of the most illustrious stables in Spain, Don Miguel A. Cardenas. “Cal” is also a grandson of Sagres. Sagres was imported and has produced numerous offspring including National Champions. In addition Cal’s dam, Granadina A, is a 3/4 sister to the multi-National Champion black stallion, Despierto. Cal is quickly proving himself to be a consistent sire of correct, well conformed and beautiful foals.
