Thundering Hooves Ranch is located on 100 acres in Northern California with scenic views of both Mount Shasta and Mount Lassen. The ranch has a creek that runs year round through the lower portion of the property with several beautiful waterfalls.
I first began raising Andalusians with my family as a teenager. I fell in love with the beauty, kindness and athleticism of the breed. I sadly had to sell my much loved Andalusian stallion, Bendito, when I went to college. I was devastated and feared that I would never be able to raise these beautiful horses again. After graduating college and getting married my husband, Don, and I settled in Northern California. At that time Don and I were fortunate enough to be able to begin raising Andalusians and Aztecas. We acquired our stallion, Juncal A and produced a number of exceptional foals by him. In 2004 I had the pleasure of meeting some wonderful Gypsy Horses at the Western States Horse Expo. I was intrigued by these beautiful, docile horses and began trying to learn more about them. In 2006 we decided to expand our breeding operation to include the Gypsy Horse. We purchased our first Gypsy, TH Aragorn, as a weanling and immediately became “hooked” on the breed. Over the past few years I have become completely enchanted by the Gypsy Horse breed. As a result of that we have decided to restructure our breeding program to focus primarily on the Gypsy Horses. We will continue to expand our breeding program over the next few years. Our young stallion, Gypsy Elite Aidan, is everything you could hope for in a stallion. I am continually amazed that he is mine and I know he will produce some outstanding foals.
All of our horses are handled daily. When choosing our breeding stock we look at temperament just as much as we do conformation. Our goal is to produce beautiful horses with the minds and bodies to excel in a variety of disciplines. |
